PIDP has compiled a range of news items from around the Pacific Islands region and published them online as the Pacific Islands Report. Launched in 1997 in collaboration with the Center for Pacific Islands Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, this resource was one of the most widely used news sites on the Pacific Islands until daily production was temporarily suspended in 2017.

An all-new Pacific Islands Report is currently under construction and will feature an improved news service along with more analysis, commentary, and voices of the Pacific. Sign up to receive an email notification when the Pacific Islands Report is re-launched for users worldwide: http://bit.ly/pidpemails

PIDP maintains the original Pacific Islands Report as a searchable archive of 20 years’ worth of articles, commentary, and reports. Government representatives, scholars, and the general public from around the world use the archive as a comprehensive resource for information about political events, economic developments, and social issues that have defined the Pacific region in the twenty-first century.
