KOREAN FIRM PLANS RESORT, AUTO FACTORY IN FIJI
Bainimarama visits assembly plant in Dangjin

SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, May 5, 2008) – A Korean company is planning to set up a car assembly plant and a resort in Fiji.

On his way back to Fiji from Dubai, interim Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama visited the company, CT&T Co Ltd’s car assembly plant in Dangjin, South Korea.

The company plans to set up a similar plant in Fiji for the local and overseas market.

In the afternoon before boarding his flight to return to Fiji, Bainimarama was briefed by CT&T Co Ltd’s president and CEO Young Gi Lee who is also planning to build a resort with 120 villas in Tavua Island in the Mamanuca Group.

Lee plans to start the project in July this year with a total investment of FJ$75.1million (US$50 million).

Bainimarama also met with the mayor of Dangjin City, Min, Jong-kee.

The Prime Minister arrived in Fiji today.
