PACIFIC ISLANDS REPORT Pacific Islands Development Program/East-West Center FIJI POLICE OFFICERS TO TRAIN IN GHANA SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, April 14, 2008) – A group of Fiji police officers has left the country to undergo an intensive two-week training programme in Ghana, Africa. The officers will return to Fiji at the end of the two weeks and prepare for duty in Sudan’s war-torn Darfur region. Police spokeswoman Ema Mua told Fijilive since the peacekeeping mission is initiated by the United Nations, everything is paid for.
